Harnessing corporate craft and entrepreneurial flare!
Following the counter-intuitive path.
Professional support for the discerning business
Our Vision
Our Vision is to be regarded as a trusted service provider and advisor to business as well as entrepreneurs in the South African business environment and beyond. Building a business is certainly not for the faint-hearted and requires professional guidance.
There are key points in the life-cycle of every business where independent advice is needed to safe-guard stakeholders and commercial business value on either a proactive or reactive basis.
Should a business be 'distressed' or delivering a lower return than expected, we offer business turnaround services or in more extreme cases can assist to put the business into 'business rescue' where we can recommend the appointment of one of our partner 'business rescue practitioners' to manage a regulated path back to company health.
We provide support from a legal and commercial perspective, inclusive of corporate action (acquiring or selling a business).
We represent the rare combination of
entrenched operational experience and deep-seated corporate craft. We further believe in a balanced blend of experience and new generation intellect.
Professional support for business - by business-minded advisors
Our Roots
Our founding partner, Hildegard Barnard-Bender, an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, had her roots firmly established in the corporate world where she served as the youngest Director at a private investment house. It was here that she gained valuable experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) , Corporate Advisory Services, optimising business operations, evaluating business strategies and turning around struggling businesses. She holds board positions on both corporate and entrepreneurial businesses.
She further recognised the need for entrepreneurs to also have access to professional guidance and advice to enable them to do things right the first time.
She is a licenced 'business rescue practitioner' and holds a Bachellors Degree in Accounting, and an LLB from the University of Stellenbosch as well as an LLM (Masters in Commercial Law) from the University of Johannesburg (UJ).
